CATALYSER BETWEEN PRODUCERS AND THE CITY

Erkılıç is a lecturer at Mersin University Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema, and his research interests include the cinema industry in Türkiye, cinema and ideology, digital cinema/VR, film festivals, and documentary cinema. 

"In summary, we designed the Mersin Film Office as a contact point for film, TV series, and documentary productions to be shot in Mersin. The office has a facilitating function, such as obtaining filming permits, providing logistical support to productions, and creating a link between producers and different institutions in the city. In a way, the office functions as a catalyst between producers and the city. In addition, Mersin Film Office tries to support the projects through accommodation, catering, and car park.' Erkılıç is the consultant for the project, along with Prof. Senem Duruel Erkılıç.
