Cumhuriyet Area and Ancient Street: The ancient street was unearthed during a foundation excavation in 1993. This excavation is one of the most important signs showing the prestige and splendor of Tarsus two thousand years ago. Although there are deteriorations in places, the street floor has managed to preserve its appearance in antiquity to a great extent. In addition, there is a colonnaded platform just east of the street and a Roman house belonging to a period after the street on the west side.
